Overview
The Analytical Chemist1 performs routine analytical testing under supervision, supporting the generation of quality data to advance pharmaceutical development and manufacturing.
Responsibilities- Conduct routine analyses (e.g., HPLC, UV, KF, FTIR) following established methods and SOPs.
- Prepare samples, reagents, and standards; ensure proper instrument calibration and maintenance.
- Document experimental details and results accurately in lab notebooks and electronic systems.
- Support method development for raw materials, product intermediates, and products to support the safety and efficacy of clinical trial material.
- Assist in maintenance and calibration of instruments, coordinating service when required.
- Participate in laboratory housekeeping and safety initiatives to maintain a compliant environment.
- Support method qualification and transfer activities under guidance of senior chemists.
- Assist with inventory management and ordering of laboratory supplies.
- Escalate analytical issues to senior chemists and collaborate on resolutions.
- Draft methods, specifications, and analytical test methods.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Basic understanding of chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques.
- Ability to follow methods and SOPs accurately and consistently.
- Knowledge of GMP/GLP concepts and data integrity principles.
- Competency in using laboratory software for data entry and instrument control.
- Understanding of sample preparation, dilutions, and basic calculations.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from senior scientists.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in executing experiments.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
- Effective communication of results and issues to colleagues.
- Works collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology or a related life science.
- 0–2 years of experience in a pharmaceutical or analytical laboratory.
- Familiarity with GMP documentation and Good Laboratory Practices.
