A Brief Overview

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the provision of nursing care based on standards of care and professional nursing practice; accountable for the outcomes of nursing care delivered in an emergency department setting.

• Provide safety with blood culture draws, hand hygiene, patient identification, medication reconciliation, and patient medication education.
• Demonstrate critical thinking abilities with patient care, physician contacts, and Administrative House Supervisors.
• Handle emergent situations per nursing protocol
• Appropriately contact physicians using sound judgment utilizing SBAR for pertinent information
• Report critical test results within policy and document per nursing protocol

• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) Required
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) Preferred
• Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) Preferred

• Previous experience in an acute care critical care setting Preferred

• Works with patients, families, physicians, and other health care providers.

• Registered Nurse - South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation with South Carolina Board of Nursing. Required
• Basic Life Support Certified - American Heart Association is required within 30 days of hire. Recertification every two years is Required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Certified - American Heart Association Preferred
