The Role:As a Banquet Captain you are the behind-the-scenes backbone of our events team. You’ll be responsible for the setup, breakdown, and overall readiness of event spaces, ensuring each function looks flawless and runs smoothly. This hands-on role involves moving furniture and equipment, assisting with event logistics, and supporting the service team before, during, and after events.
What we will ask of you:
- Set up banquet spaces according to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), including tables, chairs, linens, and equipment.
- Assist with staging, décor placement, and ensuring the event space is polished and guest-ready.
- Perform light cleaning and maintenance tasks to keep event spaces pristine.
- Ensure storage and service areas are organized and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Manage and support banquet servers during events by replenishing supplies, clearing items, and resetting as needed.
- Break down banquet setups post-event in an organized and efficient manner.
- Direct banquet team on resetting rooms for future events.
- Handle rental equipment, deliveries, or vendor items.
- Work closely with the Banquet Team to ensure smooth operations.
- Adhere to all safety, sanitation, and property standards.
- Communicate any issues, damages, or concerns to management promptly.
Requirements for Success:
- 3+ years of experience in a hospitality or events environment.
- Proven track record of success in leading and motivating teams to achieve operational goals.
- Strong understanding of food and beverage operations, including inventory management, cost control, and menu development.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with team members, guests, and community partners.
- Passion for hospitality and a commitment to creating memorable guest experiences.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
