Position Description

Equipment Maintenance & Reliability

  • Perform preventative maintenance, routine inspections, troubleshooting, and repair of hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systems including conveyors and PLC-controlled equipment.
  • Maintain equipment performance to design specifications to support production goals and minimize downtime.
  • Work with Operations to schedule repairs and preventative maintenance to support the production schedule and reduce operational disruptions.
  • Identify root causes of equipment failures and recommend cost-effective corrective solutions.
  • Maintain organized spare parts inventory and requisition necessary repair materials and components.
  • Ensure equipment consistently produces quality product while supporting established quality standards.

Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives including Lean manufacturing principles, 5S practices, visual management, Kaizen events, and error proofing (Poka-Yoke).
  • Assist in developing and maintaining preventative maintenance schedules for plant equipment.
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and process performance.

Teamwork & Communication

  • Communicate effectively across shifts to ensure equipment availability, production continuity, and product quality.
  • Train employees on equipment operation, safety procedures, and maintenance practices when required.
  • Maintain dependable attendance and demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and teamwork.
  • Accept coaching and pursue training opportunities to support technical skill development.

Safety, Health, Environment & Security (SH&E)

  • Follow all Safety, Health, Environment, and Security (SH&E) policies, procedures, and model practices while performing work.
  • Participate in safety initiatives including Permit to Work (PTW), JSERA’s, JCC’s, Lockout/Tagout, and machine guarding programs.
  • Identify and report unsafe conditions, incidents, and near misses, and assist in implementing corrective actions.
  • Support site SH&E programs by participating in safety meetings, audits, inspections, and emergency response drills.
  • Promote a strong safety culture while supporting environmental initiatives including waste reduction and regulatory compliance.

Additional Expectations

  • Maintain compliance with ISO 9001 requirements and ensure operating documentation remains current.
  • Demonstrate pride in workmanship and commitment to supporting team success and customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to work overtime, rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and alternative schedules as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Maintenance Technician or in a similar industrial maintenance role.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with demonstrated troubleshooting and repair capabilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Experience maintaining preventative and predictive maintenance programs, including identifying critical equipment and components.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
  • Understanding of Safety, Health, Environment & Security (SH&E) principles and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Basic project coordination or light project management experience.
  • Ability to work independently while supporting team-based maintenance and operational goals.
