Zededa Edge Engineer / Software Engineer / Technical Lead - Georgetown, KY (Duration: 3 Months)
Job Description:
We are seeking a ZEDEDA Edge Engineer to design, deploy, and manage secure edge computing environments using the ZEDEDA platform. In this role, you will work at the intersection of cloud, networking, virtualization, and IoT to enable reliable, scalable, and secure edge infrastructure for distributed systems. You will collaborate closely with cloud engineers, Dev Ops teams, security, and application owners to deliver mission-critical workloads at the edge.
Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and manage edge computing infrastructure using the ZEDEDA platform.
- Onboard and manage edge devices, including hardware provisioning, lifecycle management, and monitoring.
- Deploy and operate containerized and VM-based workloads at the edge.
- Integrate ZEDEDA with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Implement secure networking, identity, and access control for edge devices and applications.
- Monitor system health, performance, and availability; troubleshoot edge-related issues.
- Automate deployments and configurations using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
- Collaborate with application teams to optimize workloads for edge environments.
- Ensure compliance with security, reliability, and operational best practices.
- Document architectures, processes, and operational runbooks.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in edge computing, cloud infrastructure, or Dev Ops engineering.
- Hands‑on experience with ZEDEDA or similar edge orchestration platforms.
- Strong understanding of Linux systems, networking, and virtualization.
- Experience with containers (Docker) and orchestration concepts.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes or K3s (edge‑focused deployments preferred).
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
Experience with CI/CD tools and automation. - Understanding of security principles for distributed systems (PKI, certificates, secure boot).
