Paint Digital Engineer Job Description
We are seeking a Paint Digital Engineer who will excel in creating offline robot programs for a robotic production process. This role involves coordinating with regional paint engineers to conduct studies, trials, and evaluations focused on safety, quality, productivity, and cost. The engineer will support the Paint DE group by developing reach studies and cycle time analysis for various robot processes, including sealer, UBC, dampening coat, primer, base, clear, and interior.
The position requires leading meetings, document creation, and plant support, and traveling to the U.S., Mexico, and Canada to support projects as needed.
- Create offline robot programs for robotic production processes.
- Coordinate with regional paint engineers to conduct trials and evaluations.
- Develop reach studies and cycle time analyses for robot processes.
- Lead meetings with related groups and create necessary documentation.
- Support plants in the implementation and maintenance of robotic processes.
- Travel to the US, Mexico, and Canada to support projects as needed.
- Proficiency in PLC, troubleshooting, and programming.
- Experience in robotics and mechanical engineering.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics.
- Familiarity with 3D CAD software, AutoCAD, Catia, Kawasaki, FANUC, and Solidworks.
- Previous experience in robotic programming and paint applications.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with automated robotic paint shop applications.
- Experience in Digital Engineering and relevant certifications.
- Technical degree or equivalent work experience (2 or 4 years).
- Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to multitask.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to recommend projects, product improvements, or cost reductions.
This is a fully on‑site position with up to 30% travel. Managers are flexible with schedules and work/life balance. The role offers long‑term, stable contract opportunities with potential for full‑time employment. Employees receive 10 PTO days and 9 paid holidays annually, and any hours worked over 40 are compensated at time and a half. All travel expenses for contractors are covered.

This is a Contract position based out of Georgetown, KY.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00/hr.
