Partner with manufacturing operations to ensure engineered designs, procedures, and processes are established and implemented to continuously improve electronic control systems for production conveyor equipment. Perform electrical and electronic engineering assignments related to the maintenance, programming, troubleshooting, and modification of automated and semi-automated manufacturing equipment. Support the development, application, and maintenance of company engineering standards and processes.
Primary Responsibilities- Maintain and troubleshoot electrical and electronic control systems.
- Perform and document all PLC preventive maintenance activities.
- Develop standardized work plans and apply structured problem-solving methodologies to conduct root cause analysis for equipment downtime.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
- Provide process engineering expertise and technical support to plant manufacturing operations.
- Lead training initiatives and facilitate Kaizen events; actively promote and demonstrate Lean manufacturing principles.
- Partner with plant leadership on continuous improvement projects to drive operational performance and profitability.
- Ensure compliance with IATF Quality System requirements.
- Perform additional engineering duties as assigned; may occasionally perform tasks outside the scope of this description as business needs require.
- Bachelor’s degree in an applicable Engineering discipline.
- 3–5 years of electronic controls experience.
- Proven PLC programming experience, including Allen-Bradley and Siemens platforms.
- Demonstrated experience troubleshooting PLC systems and training others in PLC utilization.
- Knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 standards preferred.
- Working knowledge of applicable electrical codes and standards.
