Position: Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer (Industrial Construction) No C2C

Mechanical Construction Engineer (Industrial) – 12 Month Contract

Location: Georgetown, KY

Duration: 12 Months

Position Summary:

Seeking an experienced Mechanical Construction Engineer to support industrial building construction and mechanical system projects within a large manufacturing facility in Georgetown, KY. This role focuses on field coordination, contractor oversight, commissioning, and mechanical system implementation in an industrial/automotive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support mechanical system startup and commissioning activities
    .
  • Review and provide technical input on submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, and design documents
    .
  • Coordinate equipment testing, delivery, installation, and handover with contractors and vendors.
  • Oversee mechanical contractor work to ensure compliance with specifications, schedule, and safety standards
    .
  • Conduct field inspections and monitor installation quality.
  • Support schedule coordination, utility outages, and shutdown planning.
  • Manage RFIs and act as liaison between field construction and project management.
  • Prepare progress reports and assist with scheduling, materials, and purchase orders.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5–10+ years of experience in industrial/commercial construction
    .
  • 5+ years in mechanical design
    .
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods and mechanical systems.
  • Working knowledge of major codes:
    IBC, NEC, NFPA, ASME, ASHRAE, AWS
    , etc.
  • OSHA 30 certification required.
  • Experience with LOTO, electrical safe work practices, and arc flash safety.
  • Strong drawing review and field coordination skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
  • Automotive or heavy industrial manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to work in an active industrial plant environment (walking, climbing, extended field presence).
