We are seeking a Standards Engineer to plan, develop, and maintain North American facility standards. This role will support the creation and continuous improvement of construction and facility standards across mechanical, electrical, civil, and architectural disciplines.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, review, and update facility and construction standards and specifications across mechanical, electrical, civil, and architectural systems
- Collaborate with design, planning, manufacturing, and project teams to complete standards and specifications
- Monitor industry trends and current or past building issues; update standards as needed
- Manage multiple standards projects simultaneously to ensure timely completion
- Provide guidance and clarification on standards to internal teams
- Document and maintain accurate records related to standards and specifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field)
- 5–10 years of relevant professional experience
- Proven experience in standards development, engineering implementation, or quality assurance (5+ years preferred)
- Strong knowledge of industry standards and codes (ASTM, ASHRAE, IBC, NFPA, etc.)
- Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or other PDF editing software
- Experience with construction standards and specifications
- Familiarity with standards management software or tools
