Shift Team Lead Job Georgetown area,Delaware USA,Manufacturing / Production

Summary:

This position reports directly to the Production Supervisor. This is an hourly position in which overtime may be required as determined and approved by the Production Supervisor. This In addition to the listed responsibilities, there may be other responsibilities when required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Team Leader

Coordinate daily operator schedule with Production Supervisor to ensure consistency between shifts
Coordinate operator training activities.
Monitor machine status though out the shift, by communicating with support teams to decrease downtime.
Notify production control of any issues that prevent the start up or completion of any job
Reduce labor by maximizing operator throughput daily and communicating with on-coming shifts to ensure consistency between shifts.
Communicate with Quality Control throughout shift to ensure production is satisfying customer/company requirements.
Ensure hourly parts verification for all machines is completed by the designated operator, notify Quality Control of any suspect findings.
Ensure correct work orders and operator instructions are on the machine at job start and they correspond with IQMS.
Assist machine operators in correction and prevention of defects, identify and develop a plan of action to reduce scrap in the department.
Ensure operators understand standard scrap rates for each job to meet the daily goal of 3% scrap and monitor during the shift.
Implement 5-S standards in the department, direct operators, shift champions and utilities on the requirements and follow up to ensure it is being implemented.
Ensure each operator is demonstrating single piece flow during production runs.
Monitor cycle times during the shift to maximize production requirements.
Ensure operators maintain clean and safe work area during the shift.
Assume duties of machine operator and provide relief for breaks and lunches.
Coordinate with shift champion and Utility that machine set up are completed and they support single pieces flow.
Complete end of shift production reports in IQMS, verify part quantities, scrap, downtime, and labor.
Provide accurate information about operator performance to the Supervisor.
Ensure operators are properly trained on jobs that they are currently assigned to. And follow up with them during the shift
Promote a positive and productive attitude with all customers and towards all employees of Atlantis Industries.
Direct Shift champion and utilities on current status of machine, so they can act accordingly.

Education and/or

Experience:

High School diploma or equivalent required

Mathematical

Skills:

General math skills - Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide

Ability to apply understanding to carry out written or oral instructions.

Physical Demands:

Extended hours of standing and walking; reach with hands and arms; must frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.

Manufacturing environment with associated noises, smells, and temperatures
