Overview
Description BCCS is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant for our HEP-C Program.

We promote hope and empowerment to persons and families touched by mental illness, substance abuse, HIV, and related diagnoses and challenges.
Responsibilities- Support medical providers and nurses while adhering to high professional conduct and ethical standards.
- Interview clients, assist with medical exams, collect vital signs, document medications and allergies, perform EKGs, obtain blood draws, collect and process specimens, and order supplies.
- Coordinate physical and behavioral health needs for individuals with HCV and other health conditions.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for patients enrolled in the Rapid Hepatitis C Treatment Program.
- Coordinate all aspects of the treatment plan, including scheduling appointments, labs, referrals and follow-ups. Track treatment milestones on a spreadsheet.
- Communicate effectively with pharmacies and insurance companies to ensure timely medication delivery.
- Create and submit prior authorizations for medications when needed.
- Perform Rapid Fingerstick tests.
- Collect drug screens and accurately record results.
- Maintain accurate documentation and data entry in electronic health records.
- Assist the Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) with daily duties.
- Help clients by providing information, services, and assistance.
- Monitor urine drug screens (UDS) and complete appropriate documentation and processing of specimens for the laboratory.
- Prepare and maintain the lab/phlebotomy area.
- Collect and process specimens, including urine, blood, and saliva, as needed.
- Prepare clients for physical exams.
- Verify information, record medical history, medications, and allergies; confirm visit purpose and obtain vital signs and other pertinent data before the medical provider visit.
- Enter data in the client’s chart, including lab results and breathalyzer results as needed.
- Secure client information and maintain confidentiality.
- Complete any tasks as directed by the supervisor.
- Schedule appointments for providers when requested and track follow-up needs. Schedule annual physicals and 180-day follow-ups, and other appointments as directed.
- Contact clients for follow up as directed by the medical provider or supervisor.
- Operate and maintain the facility and equipment safely.
- Comply with all BCCS policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate effective environmental and infection control practices, including the use of PPE.
- Maintain and inventory supplies and equipment, ensuring essential supplies are ordered on time.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the Nursing Coordinator, ADON, DON or the Medical Provider.

CPR Certification - PREFERRED:
Phlebotomy Certification - PREFERRED: 1 – 2 Years Medical Assistant Experience
- Monday - Friday
- 2-3 days at the Milford location – 769 East Masten Circle, Milford, DE 19963
- 3-4 days at the Georgetown location – 10 N Railroad Ave, Georgetown, DE 19947
- 5:30 a.m.
- 1:30 p.m.
- From $17/hour
- Commensurate with experience and education
