JOB PURPOSE

An exciting opportunity exists for a world-class Electrician to join our newly created luxury travel brand, “Explora Journeys.” This role oversees the maintenance of all electrical equipment throughout the ship and the engine room.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Be on board the vessel at any time the First Electrician is absent, in mutual arrangement with the Chief Electrician.

Consult daily with the Chief Electrician concerning methods and procedures for maintenance and upkeep of electrical equipment within and outside the engine room.

Assign maintenance and repair duties to electricians and actively supervise overhaul and repair work.

Inspect all related work in progress and upon completion, ensure manpower is utilized efficiently, work is performed to acceptable standards, and no wastage of materials occurs.

Assign maintenance duties to engine department personnel, supervise overhaul and repair work, and inspect work in progress and upon completion.

Supervise the use of materials for maintenance, ensuring safety for personnel and equipment.

Ensure proper disposal of garbage in compliance with international, national, and company regulations.

Train personnel assigned to the engine watch, especially new personnel, to follow safe working practices, ensuring understanding of functions and adherence to standards.

Prepare requisitions for spare parts and submit them to the Chief Electrician for approval.

Control the issue and use of materials to prevent waste.

Operate with consideration for the comfort of guests.

QUALIFICATIONS (skills, competencies, experience)

Fluent in oral and written English (working & safety language of the company).
Additional languages such as Italian, Portuguese, German, Spanish, Russian, or French are valuable.

VISA REQUIREMENTS (if any)

Visas and entry documentation for countries and regions where the ship will operate.
