BackgroundThe Global Initiative Against Transnational Organized Crime (GI-TOC) is an independent civil society organization, headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, with offices in Austria, South Africa, Colombia and Malta, and a globally dispersed Secretariat working in around 41 countries. GI-TOC comprises a network of more than 700 independent global and regional experts working on human rights, democracy, governance, and development issues where organized crime has become increasingly pertinent.
GI-TOC provides a platform to promote greater debate and innovative approaches as the building blocks to an inclusive global strategy against organized crime. GI-TOC commissions and shares research globally; curates a robust resource library of 2,000 reports and tools specific to organized crime; and uses its convening power to unite both the private and public sectors against organized crime.
The GI-TOC works to:
- identify, analyse and map criminal trends and shifts in regional instability, and their impact on illicit flows, governance, development, security, conflict and the rule of law; and
- connect and empower civil-society actors across the region who are looking at issues related to organized crime and corruption, and their links to instability and conflict, and
- support local stakeholders/actors in their monitoring of national dynamics and wider regional and international organized-crime and insecurity trends.
The Digital Marketing Optimisation Specialist will be responsible for enhancing the performance of GI-TOC’s digital channels, with a focus on You Tube, social media platforms and the website. The primary focus will be on SEO strategy, paid digital campaigns, performance monitoring and reporting to ensure measurable growth in impressions, views, and engagement. This role does not involve content creation but will work alongside the comms and multimedia teams to implement effective changes.
Keyresponsibilities
- Analytics and reporting
- Monitoring performance across You Tube, social media, and website (Google Analytics, You Tube Studio, social platform analytics)
- Provide regular reports and actionable insights
- Track paid campaigns and optimise budget allocation
- Identify performance trends and recommend improvements based on analytics
- SEO Optimisation & Social Media / You Tube Performance
- Ensure social media channels are optimised for discoverability and reach
- Optimise keywords and metadata across website, social media and You Tube
- Suggest changes to website structure and on-page elements for improved search rankings
- Support You Tube SEO and make suggestions to improve content (e.g. thumbnails, closed captions and end screens)
- Track industry changes and make recommendations to relevant teams
- Advise on any additional tools needed to optimise content
- Paid Marketing
- Plan paid campaigns and content across You Tube / Google Ads and social media
- Collaborate with Multimedia and Social Media Manager
- Implement A/B testing
- Ensure compliance with platform policies and brand guidelines.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following experience and skills:
- Strong analytical and data skills
- Proficient with Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, SEO tools
- Demonstrative experience with paid campaign platforms
- Technical understanding of website optimisation
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team and turn data into actionable recommendations
- Experience in digital marketing
- Strong track record of managing SEO and paid media campaigns
- Experience in You Tube channel optimisation and analytics reporting
