Job Description

To reinforce the Synechron Switzerland team, we are seeking for a passionate Data Engineer with Data Architecture skills. In the hybrid environment, you will help maintain existing pipelines, build new data pipelines using modern cloud-native technologies and SaaS
, and shape the future of the enterprise data architecture. Our mission is for one of our clients, a Private Bank in Geneva.

Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain robust data pipelines and enterprise data architectures, ensuring consistency, scalability, and alignment with business objectives.
  • Analyze, modernize, and optimize existing data platforms and procedures, leveraging both on-premises and cloud-native technologies (e.g., AWS, Terraform, SaaS).
  • Promote data governance policies, including data quality, lineage, metadata management, and stewardship.
  • Lead the design and implementation of conceptual, logical, and physical data models (e.g., star schema, data vault), and ensure best practices in data modeling across the organization.
  • Onboard and integrate a variety of internal and external data sources, including structured, unstructured, and real-time data streams.
  • Prepare and deliver data models and solutions to stakeholders, enabling advanced analytics, reporting, and machine learning initiatives.
  • Evaluate, select, and implement appropriate technologies and frameworks for data storage, processing, and integration.
Qualifications
  • You hold a university degree in Computer Science or a related field, or an equivalent qualification.
  • You possess proven experience in data engineering, ideally within the Private Asset or Hedge Fund sector.
  • You have strong expertise in SQL and experience with Informatica Power Center for maintaining and analyzing data pipelines.
  • You are familiar with cloud services, especially AWS, and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
  • You have knowledge of data governance tools and practices (data catalog, lineage, stewardship).
  • You have experience in Python development, specifically with data handling libraries such as Pandas and dbt.
  • You understand data integration patterns (ETL/ELT, streaming, batch) and modern data platforms (e.g., lakehouse, data mesh).
  • You are knowledgeable about data security, privacy, and compliance requirements.
  • You demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • You are a team player with good interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in both spoken and written French is mandatory, along with proficiency in English.
  • You are a resident of Switzerland or willing to relocate.
