EU Pay Transparency Project Manager (Temporary contract 6 months)
Join MSC Cruises to lead compliance with the EU Pay Transparency Directive. In this role you will act as a project manager and subject‑matter expert across EU markets, supporting job description design, job evaluation, pay data analysis, reporting, process implementation and change management. You will partner closely with HR managers in each country and with internal stakeholders in Legal, IT, Compensation & Benefits and People Analytics.
Impact- Lead and coordinate the end‑to‑end implementation of EU Pay Transparency Directive requirements across EU markets.
- Act as the central project manager, establishing timelines, milestones, governance and delivery plans.
- Partner with local HR managers to ensure alignment with country‑specific requirements and labour regulations.
- Facilitate cross‑functional collaboration between Compensation & Benefits, People Analytics, Legal and external vendors.
- Prepare project updates, risk assessments and executive summaries for senior leadership.
- Support the development, review and harmonisation of job descriptions across EU business units.
- Conduct or coordinate job evaluations using established frameworks.
- Ensure consistent job levelling and mapping across markets to enable transparent and comparable pay structures.
- Provide training and guidance to HR teams on job documentation and evaluation processes.
- Support the collection, validation and consolidation of pay and workforce data from multiple EU payroll systems.
- Conduct pay gap analyses, equal‑pay audits and other statistical assessments aligned with the Directive’s methodology.
- Collaborate with People Analytics to develop dashboards and reporting tools for pay transparency disclosure.
- Prepare mandatory pay transparency reports, including Gender Pay Gap reports and Joint Pay Assessment data.
- Translate EU Pay Transparency Directive requirements into operational processes and HR practices.
- Develop standard operating procedures, templates, toolkits and guidance materials for HR teams and managers.
- Support the deployment of pay transparency processes such as pay range communication, job evaluation governance and employee information requests.
- Ensure legal compliance across EU countries through collaboration with Legal and country HR functions.
- Prepare communication materials and training for HR teams, managers and employees on pay transparency topics.
- Support organisational readiness activities, including workshops, FAQs and manager toolkits.
- Promote a culture of fairness, equity and transparency across EU markets.
Essential
- Proven experience in Compensation & Benefits, HR Consulting, People Analytics or related HR project management roles.
- Strong understanding of job evaluation methodologies and job architecture frameworks.
- Experience analysing large HR datasets and producing meaningful insights.
- Familiarity with EU labour legislation, ideally including Pay Transparency Directive requirements.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to coordinate stakeholders across multiple countries.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear narratives.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools.
Desirable
- Experience working in multi‑country HR environments with diverse payroll systems.
- Prior involvement in gender pay gap reporting or equal pay audits.
- Experience with HRIS systems such as SAP Success Factors, Workday or similar.
- Consultancy background or experience managing cross‑functional HR projects.
