The Institute of Global Health, within the Faculty of Medicine and affiliated to the Department of Community Health and Medicine, was founded in January 2014 to develop academic global health with the aim of supporting Geneva's unique position in this field, where are located, on its territory, most of the major players in global health. In this context, the Institute of Global Health is seeking applications for a:

FULL PROFESSOR or ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR
at the Institute of Global Health
and affiliated to the Department of Community Health and Medicine

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Establish lead and maintain a competitive research program in the field of global and public health, supported by external funding.
• Assume management and organizational tasks at the level of the research group and later at the level of the Institute of Global Health
• Establish and strengthen a strategic vision for the positioning of the Institute of Global Health at cantonal, regional, national and international level
• Strengthen the following thematic areas: chronic diseases, One Health and global health, health economics and health systems.
• Establish inclusive governance of the Institute of Global Health, with the integration of external experts from different specialties
• Contribute to teaching duties of the Faculty of Medicine on pre-graduate and post-graduate levels in the field of global and public health.

REQUIREMENTS:

• MD, PhD or MD‑PhD
• Proven expertise internationally recognized in global and public health
• Proven experience in management and administration of governmental or non-governmental entities
• Ability to develop a competitive line of research focused on global and public health
• Recipient of competitive research funding and author of publications in high-level peer-reviewed international journals
• Ability to collaborate with the major players in global health, as well as with cantonal and national health authorities
• Fluency in written and spoken English and French
