Financial accountant - Trading House

Overview

Responsible for full bookkeeping, payments, reconciliations, intercompany processes, and monthly/annual closings. Ensures accurate financial statements under IFRS/Swiss GAAP and supports audits.

Client Details:
For our client, a trading house, we are currently looking for a financial accountant - A background in audit is required for this role.

• Book keeping for differents companies of the group
• Booking and request of invoices payment
• Booking of cash transactions and reconciliations of bank balances
• Booking of L/C fees and bank charges in the in-house trading software
• Calculation and booking of intercompany interests
• Monthly intercompany reconciliations, proposing and arranging intercompany settlements
• Reconciliation with clearing-house accounts
• Review and follow-up of overdue invoices
• Analytical review of balance sheet and P&L accounts
• Monthly and year-end closing for various companies
• Financial statements preparation (IFRS, Swiss statutory accounts, management accounts)
• Preparing for and participating in annual audits

• 4 to 5 years post certification or degree
• A background in audit is required for this role.
• 3 years  experience in similar role in trading business, ideally commodity trading
• Excellent track record in accounting and IFRS standards
• Advanced knowledge of Excel
• Fluent in English

• Outstanding communication and relationship management skills
• Result oriented, creative and demonstrably commercial
• Well organised, disciplined, able to follow through
