About The Team You Are Joining

IATA Corporate Services (CS) encompasses Corporate Finance (CF), Corporate Treasury and Banking, Corporate Taxation, Corporate Administration and Procurement (CAP), Global Finance Operations (GFO), Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), and Health, Safety & Security (HSS).

Join our Corporate Services division to help build the next-generation Finance organization for IATA. Our ambition is to be the trusted, proactive partner providing data-driven and AI-enabled corporate services to the business, while upholding the highest fiduciary standards.

As part of the Corporate Finance team, our mission is to deliver proactive, data-driven financial leadership that empowers smarter decisions, ensures compliance, and strengthens IATA’s financial stability.

Reporting to the Manager of Credit Analysis and Hinge Accounting, the Intern will join the Collections Team, a newly established team responsible for supporting the business in monitoring accurate invoicing, minimizing bad debt exposure, and improving cash recovery processes. The role will involve close collaboration with internal stakeholders and external customers to ensure timely payment of invoices while maintaining strong customer relationships.

What

Your Day Would Be Like

As a Collections Intern, you will support the team in monitoring outstanding receivables, identifying collection issues, and helping drive timely cash recovery. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the monitoring of collection portfolio and targets as well as identifying potential collection risks, issues, and opportunities.
  • Assisting in the investigation of unpaid or overdue invoices (e.g., invoice accuracy, customer awareness, portal requirements, or operational errors).
  • Coordinating regular calls or communications with internal business partners to ensure alignment on priorities.
  • Contributing to the documentation and continuous improvement of collection processes and best practices.
  • Performing ad-hoc requests such as root-cause analysis and preparation of statement of accounts (SOAs).
We would love to hear from you if
  • You have recently graduated (within 1 year) from a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (French would be an asset).
  • You demonstrate strong teamwork, initiative, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with stakeholders across different functions and cultures.
  • You are well organized and able to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple activities simultaneously.
  • You have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and SharePoint. Experience with SAP and/or Power BI is considered an asset.
