Garda Capital Partners (Garda) is a multi‑billion dollar alternative investment firm with over 22 years of experience deploying relative value strategies across fixed income markets for institutional investors. Garda’s primary offices are located in Wayzata, New York City, West Palm Beach, Geneva, Zug, Copenhagen, Singapore, and Scottsdale.

Garda is looking to hire an Emerging Markets Analyst to join the Macro Trading Desk in Geneva. The candidate will be supporting the main risk taker in Emerging Markets as well as the broader macro team in exploring and analyzing investment ideas across Emerging Markets.

Position Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain models to track and forecast GDP, inflation, interest rates and fiscal balances across key emerging countries.
  • Actively monitor portfolio positions and stay ahead of macroeconomic trends, political events, and other market catalysts.
  • Develop and translate original data‑driven analysis into clear investment ideas and market views.
  • Work closely with risk takers to assist with idea generation, portfolio construction, and day‑to‑day risk management.
Qualifications & Desired Skills
  • 3-5 years’ experience of EM economic analysis at a major public institution or top‑tier buy‑side firm
  • Master’s Degree in economics, finance or a similar quantitative discipline
  • Proven ability to apply macroeconomic forecasting and statistical techniques, including experience with forecasting methodologies like ARIMA, VAR, and VECM models
  • Knowledge in financial markets and the mechanisms of macroeconomic policy‑making
  • Experience tracking and analyzing sovereign debt issuance and external government balance sheets
  • Strong understanding of derivatives (e.g., familiarity with options Greeks, common hedging strategies, etc.)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Critical thinking, strong attention to detail and independent problem‑solving skills
  • Advanced programming skills and proficiency in Bloomberg
  • Ability to work unconventional hours in a high‑energy, time‑sensitive team environment
