Total Energies has developed a strong expertise in oil and biofuels, natural gas and electricity trading. Trading entities are based in Geneva, Paris, Houston and Singapore. Total Energies installed its European trading hub in Geneva, where a large team around trading activities brings together Total Energies Trading & Shipping (T&S) and Total Energies Gas and Power (TGP).

T&S is a trading company in charge of all physical trading and shipping of crude oil and refined products on behalf of the Total Energies Company. It has been an active participant all over the supply chain as well as on the derivatives paper market in order to manage market risk. TGP is the trading arm of Total Energies in low carbon energies, operating in fast-evolving market dynamics that require constant adaptation.

As part of the financial team, you will report to the GM Finance and your main tasks will be the following:

• Supervise and ensure accurate and reliable monthly, quarterly and annual closing for statutory and consolidated financial statements for the full perimeter managed in Geneva (10 entities, main ones being TOTSA – Total Energies Oil Trading SA and CSSA – Chartering and Shipping Services SA)
• Trading accounting
• Shipping accounting
• Derivatives accounting
• Overheads accounting
• Actively involved in SOX controls
• Manage the audit process with external and internal auditors
• Prepare financial statements for tax return, in particular for Swiss entities
• Improve constantly the efficiency of processes
• Review internal invoicing processes, internal deals and service level agreements between entities
• Participate to financial control analysis and budget follow-up
• Close cooperation with Operations, Middle Office, IT, Internal Control, Financial Controlling in a business partner approach
• Closely follow accounting norms application and evolution (IFRS, Swiss and French standards) and ensure correct application in TOTSA and shipping financial statements. In particular IFRS9, 7, 13, 16 and future IFRS

• Support other trading entities as a norm specialist
• For specific operations (credit, financing, partnerships, new business) advise on the accounting treatment in line with legal documentation
• Human Resources: manage a team of 16 specialized accountants (organisation, recruitment, training…)
• Push the team towards digitalisation (automation with Python, Power Bi, IA agents) and efficiency
• Ensure that deliverables of the team are produced in time and of good quality
• Ensure that accounting topics can be carried out by the team (effective and efficient back-ups)

• You hold a Master’s degree in economics and/or finance
• You have 10 years of diversified experience in financial functions with solid trading accounting knowledge, in particular in audit firms, and an understanding of the business to analyse anomalies
• You have thorough knowledge and experience in the application of accounting norms (IFRS, French and Swiss standards)
• You work under time pressure and reconcile many sources of data
• You have rigourness, reactivity, analytic spirit and willingness to constantly challenge the information
• You are able to manage a team and to work as a member of a team
• You have excellent communication skills (written and oral) and the ability to lead transverse projects
• You will apply the trading mindset (Teamwork, Agility, Driven by Result, Courage, Risk Appetite, Open‑Mindedness)
• You have strong computer skills
• You are fluent in French and English
