Compliance & Risk Head, Soft Commodities

For our client based in Geneva, we are seeking an experienced Head of Compliance & Risk to lead risk management and compliance across our soft commodities trading activities. This role has end-to-end responsibility for market, credit, operational, and compliance risk across physical and derivatives trading, with a strong focus on data, systems, and risk optimization.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead risk oversight for physical, derivatives, FX, and counter party exposures
• Define and implement a centralized Group risk framework and trading limits
• Oversee VaR models, stress testing, and portfolio risk analytics
• Manage credit risk, including receivables, prepayments, and counter party exposure
• Act as Risk BPO for CTRM implementation and enhancement
  
  Leverage AI and data analytics for real-time risk monitoring (CTRM / ERP)
• Manage insurance portfolio, including credit and performance risk insurance
• Identify and execute de-risking strategies (insurance, risk sharing, structuring)
• Own and evolve practical compliance policies aligned with business needs
• Serve as a senior risk advisor to trading, finance, legal, and executive teams

• 10+ years’ experience in risk management within soft commodities trading

• Strong knowledge of physical trading, basis/differential risk, and supply chains
• Deep understanding of ICE soft commodity markets and derivatives (futures, options, OTC)
• Proven experience with VaR modelling and stress testing
• Strong credit risk and counter party risk expertise
• Experience leading or contributing to CTRM or major IT projects
• Data-driven, commercially minded, and stakeholder-focused
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Fluent in English; additional languages are an advantage
