Helvetic Payroll is supporting a major international leader in the cosmetics and beauty industry in the search for a senior Process Safety Specialist to reinforce its industrial site in Vernier.

This position is a key safety and risk-prevention role within a highly regulated chemical production and R&D environment. You will work at the intersection of production, industrialisation and HSE to ensure safe process design, scale-up and operations.

Your Mission

As Process Safety Specialist, you will act as a technical reference for industrial process safety on site. You will support production and engineering teams in identifying, assessing and mitigating risks linked to chemical processes and industrial installations.

You will contribute directly to the robustness of operations and to the deployment of a strong safety culture across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and maintain the site Process Safety Management System in alignment with regulations and internal standards
  • Provide expert support to Production, Industrialisation and R&D teams during process development, scale-up and industrial transfer
  • Conduct hazard identification, HAZOP and risk assessments and define mitigation measures
  • Validate Management of Change (MOC) from a process safety perspective
  • Maintain and update the process risk portfolio and safety documentation
  • Facilitate cross-functional risk workshops involving production, engineering and HSE stakeholders
  • Deliver clear technical reports and ensure implementation of corrective actions
  • Support compliance with ATEX, OPAM, Industrial Hygiene and environmental safety requirements
  • Promote and strengthen process safety awareness and best practices across the site
  • Participate in industrial performance and improvement projects impacting process design and operations
Required Profile

Mandatory requirement:

Master’s degree in Industrial Process Safety, Environment & Quality (or equivalent discipline in chemical/process safety). Applications without this academic background cannot be considered.

We are looking for a senior operational profile (10 years of experience) with hands‑on exposure to industrial chemical environments.

Experience & Skills
  • 10 years of experience in Process Safety within chemical, fine chemical, pharmaceutical or cosmetics manufacturing
  • Practical experience in industrial risk assessment and safety reviews (HAZOP, risk analysis, mitigation plans)
  • Exposure to production plants, pilot plants or industrialisation environments
  • Good knowledge of ATEX, process hazards and industrial safety regulations
  • Ability to interact with both technical teams and operational stakeholders
  • Strong communication and training capabilities
  • Hands‑on and pragmatic approach to safety in production environments
Languages
  • French: fluent (mandatory for operational interactions on site)
  • English: professional level
