Director General (Direct rice Générale)
We are looking for an exceptional leader to become our next Director General. This rare opportunity will allow you to guide one of the world’s most influential international schools at a pivotal moment in its evolution.
OverviewThe International School of Geneva (Ecolint) was founded in 1924 as the world’s first international school and the birthplace of the International Baccalaureate. The Foundation serves around 4,300 students across three campuses, delivering a range of programmes in both English and French, including bilingual streams, within a diverse, internationally minded community. Rooted in the principles of peace, inclusion and solidarity, Ecolint is committed to educating young people with the courage and capacity to shape a just and joyful future.
Responsibilities- Act as Ecolint’s Chief Executive and Educational Leader, overseeing overall strategy, leadership and management.
- Work closely with the Governing Board to ensure coherence across educational, financial and operational functions while supporting the distinct identity of each campus and its programmes.
- Build trust, lead transparently and communicate with clarity and empathy.
- Maintain a strong focus on students, staff and the wider community, balancing financial and organisational judgment with educational excellence.
- Proven track record of senior leadership in multicultural educational organisations, ideally within international schools.
- Outstanding communication skills, fluent in English and French, with the gravitas and intercultural sensitivity to inspire confidence among diverse stakeholders.
- Strong commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, safeguarding and student wellbeing.
- Demonstrated ability to combine sound financial and organisational judgement with a clear focus on student success.
