Med/Surg Registered Nurse - Full Time (36 hours) Location

New York, NY

This is a 13-week contract position.

Shifts are 3x12 hours, day or night variable (scheduled as needed by client) with weekends, holidays, and 2 on-call shifts required.

The Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical, and communication skills in delivering high-quality compassionate care to patients and families. The Registered Professional Nurse assesses patient needs, develops a collaborative plan of care with the interdisciplinary team, provides direct care, evaluates patient progress, and coordinates care delivery throughout the patient’s episode. The RN on 3 North develops specialized skills in caring for patients admitted for medical conditions, providing care to adult, adolescent, and geriatric populations.

This role emphasizes patient family education for self-care beyond hospitalization, promoting comfort and emotional support in a healing environment.

• Applies nursing knowledge and skills in the delivery of care.
• Assesses patient/family needs through active listening and analyzing data from various sources.
• Creates individualized plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Encourages trust and cooperation among team members for optimal patient outcomes.
• Teaches patients/families about care and healing at home, tailoring education to learning styles.
• Evaluates quality and effectiveness of nursing practice and engages in self-evaluation for professional development.
• Fosters meaningful connections with patients and families, prioritizing their needs.
• Demonstrates skill in medication administration and other interventions.

• NYS RN Licensure - Required
• BLS & ACLS certification (AHA or RQI only) - Required
• NIHSS certification - Required
• One (1) year of experience in a Med/Surg environment as a Registered Nurse - Required
