Med/Surg Registered Nurse - Full Time

This is a 13-week contract position.

Full-time position, 3x12 hour shifts (7a-7:30p), every other weekend, holidays, plus 2 on-call shifts every 4 weeks.

The Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical, and communication skills in delivering high-quality compassionate care to patients and families. The RN assesses patient needs, develops a collaborative plan of care, provides direct care, evaluates patient progress, and coordinates care delivery throughout the patient’s episode. The RN on 3 North specializes in caring for adults, adolescents, and geriatric patients with medical conditions, promoting comfort and providing emotional support in a Healing Environment.

• Applies nursing knowledge and skill in the delivery of care.
• Assesses patient and family needs, creating age-appropriate and culturally relevant care plans.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to evaluate patient progress and modify care plans as needed.
• Educates patients and families on self-care, encouraging understanding and retention of key health information.
• Evaluates nursing practice and engages in self-assessment for professional development.
• Fosters a trusting relationship with patients and families, ensuring they are central to all care.
• Administers medications and implements interventions as per nursing standards.

• NYS RN Licensure required.
• Certifications:
  
  BLS, ACLS (AHA or RQI only), NIHSS.
• One (1) year of experience in a Med/Surg environment as a Registered Nurse required.
