Med/Surg RN - Full Time (36 hours) Location

New York, NY

This is a 13-week contract position.

FT 3x12s - Day or Night shifts scheduled as needed, including Every Other Weekend (EOW) and Holidays + 2 on-call shifts per 4 weeks.

The Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical, and communication skills in delivering high-quality compassionate care to patients and families. The RN assesses patient needs, develops a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, provides direct care, evaluates patient progress, and coordinates care delivery throughout the patient's episode. The RN on 3 North develops specialized skills in the area of patients admitted for medical conditions.

Care is provided to adult, adolescent, and geriatric populations with medical conditions, emphasizing patient and family education on self-care beyond hospitalization.

• Applies nursing knowledge and skill in the delivery of care.
• Assesses patient/family needs and creates an individualized plan of care.
• Promotes, advocates for, and protects the health, safety, and rights of the patient.
• Motivates the patient/family through structured education on care and healing at home.
• Engages in self-evaluation of practice and seeks professional development opportunities.
• Demonstrates skill in medication administration and the importance of creating a Healing Environment.

• New York State RN Licensure is required.
• Certifications:
  
  BLS, ACLS (AHA or RQI only), NIHSS.
• One (1) year experience serving in a Med/Surg environment as a Registered Nurse is required.
