Base pay range

$15.18/hr - $20.54/hr

Amsted Automotive - Piston Pin Facility has a need for a Sorter. The Sorter will perform final inspection duties on parts to ensure quality product is shipped to customers.

• Inspect parts received from production for various quality issues including nicks, rust, wheel marks, scratches, dings, etc.
• Use provided tools to mark product and/or packaging to meet customer requirements and specifications.
• Provide parts that can be reworked to operations.
• Dispose of all parts that do not meet customer quality specifications and cannot be reworked.
• Complete sort logs to keep track of all product passing through final inspection.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities in and around the plant to assist in increases in productivity, safety, quality, etc.
• Work safely and help keep other team members safe by pointing out hazards in the work environment.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

High school diploma, GED, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities.

No previous experience required. Previous experience in a quality function is preferred.

Excellent attention to detail is required.

Physical requirements include: good speaking, hearing and vision ability, excellent manual dexterity, ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds occasionally.

Work is performed in a typical manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, oil, grease, heat, humidity, solvents and chemicals with several elements continuously present to the extent of being objectionable. Full-time position. Will require overtime and weekend hours.
