STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING COACH – Men’s Senior Program
Full-time seasonal contract position (April – September 2026)
Position
:
Full time (~30-40 hours per week) contracted strength and conditioning coach to work with our 2025 Men’s Senior Program at Volleyball Canada.
Length of Contract
: ~26-week contract between April 1 st and September 30 th , 2026 (There will be a 1–2-week break after Volleyball Nations League but this is dictated on whether the team qualifies for VNL finals and the beginning of training camp for Olympic Qualifying event in September).

Center Sportif, Gatineau, QC, Canada.
* International travel will be required.
Roles and Responsibilities:Athlete Development and Monitoring
- Under the guidance of the Director of Performance Sciences and Innovation and High-Performance Director, develop, deliver, and refine physical preparation plans for athletes.
- Coach athletes in both individual and group settings to ensure proper lifting technique, adaptation, and safety.
- Optimize athlete availability and technical/tactical training by using best-practice approaches and collaborating with the sport medicine staff and coach.
- Execute and assist in physical testing preparation, athlete monitoring, and tracking to ensure athlete progress.
- Collate and submit reports following testing at the conclusion of each training block.
- Provide feedback, including presentations, reports, and publications to athletes and coaches.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration and Communication
- Collaborate with the head coach on specific loading plans and periodization of training.
- Regularly attend and contribute to integrated support team (IST) meetings.
- Communicate effectively with IST members to integrate multidisciplinary solutions.
- Consult and refer specific athlete issues to relevant IST practitioners.
Professional Development and Education
- Stay informed on current research trends to enhance sport-specific and general knowledge.
- Maintain accurate records of work conducted.
- Adhere to professional codes of conduct relevant to sports science and medicine.
- Maintain a proactive approach to personal and professional development.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in the high-performance sport environment (Professional, Olympic, National, University/College).
- Experience in a volleyball setting is an asset.
- MSc/MA in Strength & Conditioning, Kinesiology, Human Kinetics, Exercise Science, or similar
- National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA), Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification or equivalent (i.e. CSEP HP, UKSCA, ASCC).
- High technical proficiency (Microsoft Excel, Athlete Monitoring Systems, etc.).
- Experience working with dual force plate technology, accelerometry, timing gates, and other applied sport science technologies.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
Volleyball Canada will request a Police record check prior to offering a contract.
CompensationRange of $30,000-$35,000. Based on candidates experience, education and qualifications.
