• Provide direct patient care by assessing and monitoring vital signs and symptoms.
• Assess the acuity of the care required by the patients.
• Develop and implement staffing plan for the shift based on patient acuity, patient census and available staff.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to implement individualized care plans.
• Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment plans, and necessary lifestyle changes.
• Document all patient care activities, responses to treatments, and any changes in condition accurately and timely.

• Licensed and currently registered as a Professional Nurse in the state of Texas or possesses temporary permit to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas while awaiting receipt of license.
• Required to meet qualification criteria during hospital and nursing unit orientation periods.
• Prefer three plus years of professional nursing experience in clinical setting.
• Require current CPR (ACLS certification within one year) and must maintain without lapse.
• Must have PALS within one year of employment and must maintain without lapse.
• Must have basic EKG and/or arrhythmia course within six months of employment.
• Must have basic computer knowledge.
• May satisfy requirements with documentation from previous experience.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
