About

the Role

Due to continued growth, Ocado Logistics is thrilled to announce the launch of a brand-new site in Gateshead. We’re recruiting Site Support for this exciting new site — a rare opportunity to be part of something from the ground up, helping shape the culture, success, and future of a newly created location. If you’re looking for a fresh challenge and the chance to make a real impact from day one, we want to hear from you.

At Ocado Logistics, we’re redefining delivery excellence, and as Site Support you’ll be right at the centre of it. You’ll help drive performance, keep operations running smoothly, and ensure our customers receive the outstanding service they expect.

Working across fleet, facilities, and people coordination, you’ll be instrumental in delivering operational efficiency and achieving key performance targets. You’ll build strong relationships across the site, working closely with managers, colleagues, internal teams, and external partners to maintain a professional, safe, and high-performing environment.

This is more than just operational support — it’s an opportunity to influence culture, champion safe working practices, and help create a positive, engaged workplace where colleagues can thrive and customers are consistently impressed.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Assist in managing fleet, facilities, and operational assets to ensure safety, compliance, and availability.
  • Support the timely and accurate delivery of all customer orders to maintain high service standards.
  • Help monitor shift performance, resource allocation, KPIs, and operational risks.
  • Support team members through guidance and coaching, helping maintain engagement and motivation.
  • Promote Health & Safety and follow safe systems of work across the site.
  • Monitor routes in real time and help resolve operational issues efficiently.
  • Contribute to maintaining delivery quality, customer satisfaction, and service excellence.
  • Assist in keeping drivers engaged, punctual, and performing to expectations.
  • Foster collaboration, teamwork, and clear communication across shifts.
  • Take ownership of tasks, solve problems proactively, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Who Should Apply

We’re looking for someone organised, proactive, and people-focused — someone who thrives in a fast-paced operational environment and takes pride in delivering excellence.

You will ideally have:

  • Good IT proficiency and confidence using tracking systems, reporting tools, and administrative platforms
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a calm and proactive approach to resolving issues
  • Excellent time management skills along with the ability to prioritise and delegate tasks where needed
  • Current UK Driving Licence (or equivalent), IOSH managing safely (or equivalent)
  • Background in distribution, fleet or logistics management would be advantageous
What you can expect to receive in return

At Ocado we believe in a workplace where everyone feels valued and supported, so you’ll find a safe and collaborative atmosphere that is as fresh as our produce as well as an award winning recognition programme and benefits package that includes a healthy work-life balance, extensive healthcare coverage, competitive salaries, and exclusive employee discounts.
