Safeguarding Children Nurse Advisor

Role Overview

The children’s safeguarding team is incredibly excited to advertise the position of Safeguarding Children Nurse Advisor. We are looking for an experienced, innovative nurse with safeguarding children experience to support the Named Nurse for Safeguarding Children in the delivery of statutory responsibilities to safeguard children within Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust.

• Support the Named Nurse for Safeguarding Children by ensuring core responsibilities and key objectives are effectively discharged.
• Promote and develop partnership working between all agencies involved in the care and protection of children.
• Contribute to the development of policy and practice regarding the legislative framework for safeguarding children (working within frameworks such as Working Together to Safeguard Children 2023 and the NHS Safeguarding Accountability and Assurance Framework 2024).

Based in the North East of England, Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of hospital and community health services from our leading facilities, including the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Blaydon urgent care centre and Bensham Hospital, all within Gateshead.
