Job Summary

An exciting and rare opportunity to work as an activities co-ordinator in Cragside Ward, which is situated in the grounds of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Gateshead. Cragside Ward is a 12 bedded Ward, providing assessment and treatment for patients who have a Dementia.

An activities coordinator can be an incredibly fulfilling role and one that can offer a vast number of benefits to those who participate. The role goes beyond simply arranging activities; it is one that can provide people with social interaction, exercise, engagement and a sense of inclusion.

Based in the North East of England we provide a range of hospital and community health services from our leading facilities, including the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Blaydon urgent care centre and Bensham Hospital, all within Gateshead. Established in 2005, we were one of the first foundation trusts in the country and since then have consistently achieved the highest levels of care for patients.

We now employ around 4,800 staff and currently provide 444 hospital beds across the Gateshead region.

Organise social events on the ward to include patients, relatives, staff and visitors. Organise and arrange group and individual activities for patients to promote social interaction. Liaise with other outside agencies to provide support and advice on social activities.
