An exciting and rare opportunity to work as a activities co-ordinator in Cragside Ward, which is situated in the grounds of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Gateshead.
Cragside Ward is a 12 bedded Ward, providing assessment and treatment for patient who have a Dementia.

. The role goes beyond simply arranging activities, it is one that can provide people with social interaction, exercise, engagement and a sense of inclusion.
Based in the North East of England we provide a range of hospital and community health services from our leading facilities, including the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Blaydon urgent care centre and Bensham Hospital, all within Gateshead.
Established in 2005, we were one of the first foundation trusts in the country and since then have consistently achieved the highest levels of care for patients.
We now employ around 4,800 staff and currently provide 444 hospital beds across the Gateshead region.

Job responsibilitiesOrganise social events on the ward to include patients, relatives, staff and visitors. Organise and arrange group and individual activities for patients to promote social interaction. Liaise with other outside agencies to provide support and advice on social activities.
Person Specification Knowledge and Skills- Knowledge of a range of practical skills related to social and daily living activities
- NVQ Health and Social Care equivalent
- An understanding of the needs of clients with mental health problems
- Knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations related to work environment and practice
- The ability to facilitate group and individual work
- Patients, relatives or their carers
- Members of the ward team
- Other members of the multi-disciplinary team
