Senior Health Care Assistant

Location: Gateshead

Employment Type: Full Time – either Night Shift or Day Shift

Pay: £12.95 – £14.00 per hour

We are currently looking to recruit experienced Senior Healthcare Assistants.

• NVQ Level 3 is essential.
• Transferrable DBS Certificate preferable but not essential.
• Experience working as a Senior care assistant in a care home environment is essential.
• Demonstrated skills and experience to perform well in this role.
• Good manners and a flexible approach.
• Effective communication skills.
• Patient & able to remain calm under pressure.
• Easily adaptable to new environments.
• Reliable & trustworthy.
• Own transport desirable, not essential.
• Flexible to work across multiple environments weekly, depending on client needs.

• Deliver high standards of care.
• Participate in formulation and maintenance of individual care plans and administer medication as prescribed, maintaining accurate records.
• Provide the highest level of personal care and attention – following individual care plans carefully and ensuring all contact is polite, friendly, warm and supportive; act as key worker for a named group of residents as defined in the training manual.
• Be flexible, committed and passionate in all work assignments.
• Assist with activities of daily living and domestic duties.
• Ensure health, safety and welfare of clients is always protected.
• Maintain regular communication with the Home Manager.
• Ensure effective written and oral communication at all times.
