Irwin and Colton have been engaged by a well-regarded construction fit‑out organisation to recruit a Health and Safety Advisor. The company turnover is in excess of £190 million and is growing its team due to an increase in projects in the area. This role will work alongside a team of safety professionals on a range of sites primarily in Newcastle and Leeds.

• Implement health and safety policies and procedures on site, ensuring compliance and keeping updated with key changes to legislation.
• Visit sites and engage with managers, ensuring responsibilities are clear and answering technical Health and Safety related enquiries.
• Conduct audits, inspections and accident investigations, continually seeking areas for improvement and development in Health and Safety performance.

• Experience in a similar role ideally within construction, fit‑out or refurbishment.
• Hold or be working towards a NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent and ideally hold a membership of IOSH.
• Good organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Good communication skills with the ability to engage with a broad range of stakeholders.
