Are you a Health & Social Care graduate looking to build experience supporting children’s wellbeing, development, and learning?
Protocol Education is working with a number of welcoming primary schools across Gateshead who are seeking compassionate graduates to join their classrooms as Teaching Assistants.
This role gives you the opportunity to apply your knowledge of wellbeing, safeguarding, and support strategies in a school environment while developing valuable experience for careers in education, pastoral care, or child services.
Working hours are 8.30am to 3.30pm, term time only
.
Your studies have focused on care, development, and support, all of which are essential skills within schools.
In this role you’ll help children:
- Build confidence and independence
- Feel supported and safe within the classroom
- Develop positive behaviour and learning habits
- Access the curriculum with the support they need
This experience is particularly valuable for graduates considering careers in teaching, pastoral support, family services, or safeguarding roles
.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Supporting pupils in small groups or on a 1:1 basis
- Helping children stay engaged during lessons
- Encouraging positive behaviour and participation
- Supporting pupils with emotional wellbeing needs
- Assisting teachers with classroom organisation and learning activities
You’ll be an important part of the classroom team, helping create a supportive environment where pupils can thrive.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
