SEN Teaching Assistant - Gateshead
Salary: £14.00 Per hour

About the RoleEducation Network are currently recruiting for dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to work in a welcoming school in Gateshead. The role involves supporting children with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties.
You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide tailored support, helping pupils to access learning, develop social skills, and achieve their full potential in a safe and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN, including ASD and SEMH
- Support with the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies.
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
- Assist with classroom activities and differentiated learning tasks.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and outside agencies to ensure consistent support.
- Help create a positive, nurturing, and engaging learning environment.
- Experience working with children with SEN, particularly ASD or SEMH.
- Calm, patient, and resilient, with a caring and supportive approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A team player who is passionate about making a difference in young people’s lives.
- A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent experience).
- A valid Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply for one).
