Psychology Graduate – SEMH Learning Support Assistant

Location: Gateshead

We’re recruiting Psychology graduates to work in a specialist SEMH provision in Gateshead. Pupils here need emotional regulation support, consistency and adults who understand behaviour beneath the surface.

During your day, you will:
  • Support students with emotional regulation strategies
  • Implement behaviour plans and individual support strategies
  • Observe and report patterns of behaviour
  • Help deliver social skills and intervention sessions
  • Create safe, structured learning environments

This role gives you hands‑on experience with trauma-informed approaches, attachment awareness and restorative practice.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
