About the RoleGateshead College is recruiting a team of industry‑experienced specialists to deliver our brand‑new Screen Lab programme. Created in partnership with ITV & ITV Signpost, Screen Lab provides high‑quality, industry‑led training to adults (19+) looking to enter or progress in the screen industries.

These 12‑week courses offer practical, hands‑on learning culminating in a collaborative CoLab production project and a finishing‑school experience delivered by ITV Signpost.
Responsibilities- Deliver engaging, practical training aligned to industry standards.
- Support learners aged 19+ from diverse backgrounds from foundation to working professionals seeking upskilling.
- Guide students through a structured curriculum, including industry insights, practical workshops and portfolio creation.
- Facilitate Weeks 9 & 10 of the CoLab project, working collaboratively with tutors from other specialties.
- Prepare learners for progression, including entry‑level roles, ITV Academy opportunities, and advanced training programmes.
- Provide formative assessment and support learners to achieve an NCFE Level 1 qualification where applicable.
- These roles are perfect for freelancers, practitioners, and specialist educators who want to inspire new entrants into the North East’s fast‑growing screen sector.
- Recent or current industry experience in one of the six specialisms.
- Confidence delivering practical skills in a workshop‑style environment.
- Strong communication and mentoring skills.
- Ability to support and motivate adult learners.
- Commitment to inclusive and collaborative teaching.
- Prior teaching, training or workshop delivery experience (not essential).
- Experience with cross‑disciplinary projects or productions.
- Familiarity with NCFE qualifications (advantageous but not required).
- For Virtual Production: experience with Unreal Engine, green screen workflows, or LED volume technologies.
- For Music/Sound: proficiency with Logic or similar DAWs.
- For Set Design: technical drawing, model‑making or art department experience.
