English Graduate – Literacy & SEMH Support Assistant

Location: Gateshead
Start Date: Immediate or September

We’re recruiting an English graduate to support literacy development in a SEMH provision in Gateshead.

Many pupils in this setting have gaps in reading and writing due to disrupted education. Your role will be to help rebuild those foundations.

What you’ll be doing :
  • Supporting small group literacy sessions
  • Helping pupils engage with reading in a non-judgemental way
  • Supporting writing and communication tasks
  • Encouraging confidence in classroom participation
  • Working closely with class teachers to adapt materials

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
