A well‑structured primary school in Gateshead is recruiting a Year 2 Early Career Teacher to join their KS1 team full‑time, 8.30am to 3.30pm
.

You’ll be teaching a settled class with strong routines already in place.

• Full responsibility for a Year 2 class
• Delivering phonics, reading, writing and maths
• Preparing pupils confidently for end‑of‑KS1 assessments
• Working within a parallel year group team
• Access to a formal ECT induction programme

Planning is collaborative, behaviour systems are clear, and expectations are realistic.

• UK QTS
• Secure phonics knowledge
• Strong classroom presence
• A reflective and proactive attitude

• Experience in structured assessment
• Support from experienced KS1 colleagues
• A manageable timetable and clear expectations

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
