We’re working with forward-thinking secondary schools in Gateshead who are keen to welcome a Psychology graduate into a Graduate Learning Support Assistant role.

As a Graduate Learning Support Assistant
, you’ll support pupils aged 11–16, particularly those with additional learning, behavioural, or emotional needs. This is hands‑on experience that universities simply cannot replicate.

• Supporting students with SEMH needs in class
• Delivering small group interventions
• Helping implement behaviour support plans
• Working alongside SENCOs and pastoral leads
• Promoting positive routines and self‑regulation

Secondary schools in Gateshead are looking for Graduate Learning Support Assistants who are reflective, resilient, and ready to learn.

• Have recently graduated in Psychology
• Are considering educational psychology or teaching
• Understand behaviour through a developmental lens
• Communicate confidently with young people
• Are patient and adaptable

Experience in youth work, care, mental health support, or tutoring is beneficial.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
