English Graduate Cover Supervisor

Love literature but not quite ready for full teacher training?

A secondary school in Gateshead is looking for an English graduate to step into a Cover Supervisor role. You’ll lead pre-planned lessons, manage behaviour, and gain invaluable classroom experience.

Hours are 8.30am to 3.30pm.

• Delivering pre-set lessons across KS3 and KS4
• Managing classroom behaviour confidently
• Supporting students with literacy where needed
• Building your presence at the front of the classroom
• Gaining the confidence needed for future teacher training

• Hold a degree in English or a related subject
• Are confident speaking in front of groups
• Want paid classroom experience
• Are considering a PGCE

• Clear behaviour policies
• Support from experienced department staff
• Opportunities to progress

• Support applying for teacher training when ready

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
