Primary Schools / Gateshead / Part Time – 2/3 days per week or 5 Afternoons per week

Milk Education is recruiting Graduate Social & Emotional Classroom Support staff to work in a primary school in Gateshead, supporting pupils with a range of Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.

• Psychology Graduates
• Criminology Graduates
• Counselling, Mental Health or Youth Work graduates
• Aspiring Educational Psychologists, Teachers, Therapists or SEN Specialists
• Graduates seeking paid, practical experience in education

(Previous school experience is helpful but not essential—training can be provided.)

You may work with pupils who experience:

• Anxiety and worries around school
• Low mood or emotional withdrawal
• Difficulties with emotional regulation
• Attachment and relationship needs
• Behavioural challenges linked to emotions
• Low self-esteem and confidence
• Trauma-related responses
• Social interaction and communication difficulties

Support is typically provided 1:1 or in small groups, helping pupils feel safe, understood and ready to learn.

As a Graduate Social & Emotional Classroom Support Worker, you will:

• Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
• Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
• Help pupils engage with learning and routines
• Work closely with class teachers and SEN teams
• Contribute to a calm, nurturing classroom environment
