Studied Sociology and wondering how to turn theory into impact?

A welcoming secondary school in Gateshead is looking for a Sociology graduate to work as a Teaching Assistant, supporting pupils with behaviour, SEMH needs, and social development.

This is a full-time role, 8.30am to 3.30pm
, ideal if you’re considering teacher training or educational psychology.

What your days will look like
  • Supporting students in lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Providing small group intervention focused on social skills
  • Supporting behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Working closely with pastoral and safeguarding teams
  • Gaining real classroom experience before a PGCE
We’re looking for someone who
  • Holds a degree in Sociology or a related subject
  • Is confident working with teenagers
  • Understands behaviour through a social lens
  • Wants hands-on experience in education
