Functional Skills Tutor

About the Role

Prospero Teaching is working in close partnership with local councils, SEND services, and education providers across Gateshead to deliver tailored, one-to-one and small-group Functional Skills support. We are currently recruiting experienced Tutors to teach Maths, English, and PSHE at Entry Level 3, Level 1, and Level 2.

Tuition is delivered in person, which may take place in:

• Community venues
• Alternative provision settings
• Occasionally, the student s home environment

• Pay rate:
  Up to £30 per hour (dependent on qualifications and experience)

  Up to 15 hours per week per student

• Development:
  Access to CPD-accredited courses and training

• Deliver one-to-one or small-group Functional Skills tuition in Maths and/or English
• Plan and deliver personalised lessons to address individual learning needs
• Track student progress and provide regular, constructive feedback to students and families
• Create a positive, supportive learning environment to help rebuild confidence
• Complete daily attendance records and weekly progress reports

• Have previous experience delivering Functional Skills
• Hold the right to work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced DBS (child barred list) registered on the update service, or be willing to apply for one
• Be able to provide references covering the last two years of employment or education
