** Trainee CAD Technician
** to join our growing
** Operational Delivery team
** at our
** Team Valley office in Gateshead**. This is a
** full-time, permanent, entry-level role** — no previous CAD experience required. If you’re detail-focused, organised, and keen to learn a specialist skill with long-term career prospects, this could be your start.
** What You’ll Be Learning
** This is a hands-on trainee role where you’ll learn CAD skills on the job, supported by a senior mentor and a full technical team. You’ll combine day-to-day experience with specialist training modules — learning not just
* how* to draw, but
* why* precision matters.
* Produce and annotate
** 2D technical site plans
** using
** Draft Sight / AutoCAD
*** Create plans, elevations, technical details, and building layouts to a professional standard
* Work accurately and consistently, ensuring drawings meet quality and technical requirements
* Collaborate on larger projects while also managing individual tasks confidently
* Generate and review survey reports
* Enter and maintain data across multiple systems, including
** Nex Gen
* ** Communicate clearly with clients, managers, and colleagues
* Work to deadlines and contribute to meeting KPIs — without cutting corners
* Support the wider Operational Delivery team as needed
* Be starting your career, changing direction, or looking for a technical role with progression
* Enjoy structured, detail-driven work
* Be comfortable working independently while valuing team collaboration
* Take pride in accuracy and consistency
* Be organised, reliable, and calm under pressure
* Have a proactive approach to learning and improving
* Educated to
** GCSE level or equivalent
*** Experience with
** AutoCAD or Draft Sight
** is desirable, but absolutely not essential
* Basic IT skills and confidence using computer systems
* Full training provided, including industry-leading modules and mentoring
