We re looking for dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team of Children s Support Workers across residential homes in the North East. Responsibilities- Offer compassionate support to children with diverse needs, including emotional and behavioural challenges, autism, and learning disabilities.
- Help children develop essential life skills and boost their overall well-being.
- Put care plans and behaviour management strategies into action, tailored to each child.
- Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for everyone.
- Keep accurate records of progress, incidents, and observations.
- Work hand-in-hand with colleagues, families, and external agencies to ensure the best holistic care.
- Respond to challenging behaviours with patience, professionalism, and understanding.
- Uphold the highest standards of care and champion safeguarding policies and procedures.
- A valid full driving licence and a reliable vehicle for getting around the North East.
- Essential experience working in Residential Children s Homes and supporting children who have experienced childhood trauma.
- Flexibility to travel up to an hour to Gateshead, Sunderland, Newcastle, or Durham, and availability for both day and night shifts.
- A commitment to working at least 3 shifts per week.
- Proof of your Right to Work in the UK.
- Up-to-date mandatory training certificates, PMVA training, and an Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service.
- The ability to provide employment references covering the last 3 years.
- Competitive pay: £15.35 per hour for Day shifts (08:00 - 20:00) and £16.88 per hour for Waking Nights (20:00 - 08:00).
- A flat rate of £57.02 for Sleep-in shifts.

1 year minimum experience in the UK as a support worker - Skills:
Childcare experience, patience, and empathy are key - Professional Knowledge:

A relevant childcare qualification or equivalent experience is a big plus
