Job Summary
Serves as an administrative resource for nursing and other departments as required for coordination of patient care services on assigned shifts. Additional responsibilities include collaborating with the clinical teams to facilitate patient admissions, discharges, intra-hospital and inter-facility transfer processes. This will include analyzing information to ensure proper placement in accordance with established policies and bed allocation criteria. The maximum utilization of hospital beds, which provide the optimal provision of nursing, medical and technological support, is the goal.
QualificationsCurrent RN license to practice in NC (NC licensure or multi-state (compact) license). Bachelor's Degree in nursing preferred least three years of nursing in acute care with outstanding leadership and organizational skills and a broad knowledge of nursing practice required. Able to deal tactfully with patients, families, physicians, and ancillary personnel and the ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team is a must.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. Demonstrated interpersonal and problem solving skills required. Prior experience with patient placement/bed management protocols and supervisory experience preferred. BLS required; ACLS and PALS strongly preferred.
