Maintenance Lead Technician

PMR Catalytic Converter Recycling is a leader in the industrial recycling industry, known for its excellent service and innovative recovery technology. As we expand our operations with a brand-new facility in Gastonia, North Carolina, we are looking for a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to join our team.

This role is ideal for a hands‑on, autonomous professional who enjoys variety and responsibility. You will be instrumental in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of all plant equipment and infrastructure from day one. You will be responsible for preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, installations, and equipment modifications, working closely with operations while also being comfortable working independently.

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on machinery, equipment, and systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues efficiently to minimize downtime.
• Install, dismantle, modify, and reassemble equipment according to safety and quality standards.
• Conduct welding and fabrication work as needed for repairs or improvements.
• Diagnose and repair electrical systems, including wiring, controls, motors, and PLC‑related components.
• Maintain clear and accurate maintenance records, including work performed and parts used.
• Support continuous improvement by identifying risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for optimization.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
• Collaborate closely with operations to support production needs in a growing facility.

• Certification in industrial maintenance, electrical, welding, or related trade.
• Proven experience in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment.
• Experience with CNC equipment and industrial automation systems.
• Basic understanding of PLCs and machine controls.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with hands‑on troubleshooting and repair experience.
• Welding experience (MIG/TIG or equivalent).
• Solid understanding of electrical systems and ability to troubleshoot electrical issues.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Comfortable working independently, managing priorities, and multitasking in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and initiative.
• Strong commitment to safety practices and proactive maintenance.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Salary based on experience: up to $35/hour.
